Mi-Co, the Mobile Information Corporation, introduces a new enterprise solution for data collection: Mi-Forms on the HP Slate 500. Mi-Co has recently validated the HP Slate for use with Mi-Co’s industry leading Slate forms software, Mi-Forms.
The combination of a portable, lightweight, handheld computer, and powerful data collection software will change the way companies and organizations gather information from the field, with or without internet connectivity.
The HP Slate 500 is Windows 7 -based, meaning collected information can be easily integrated with most database and back-end systems. Unlike most slates, this model comes with a stylus, which means filling electronic forms is as easy as filling paper forms, but with added benefits. With the Mi-Forms software on the HP Slate 500, data can be pre-filled to avoid redundant processes. You can add pick-lists, check boxes, fields for GPS, diagrams, and even incorporate videos and images on the form. Text conversion, as well as free-form handwriting for note-taking or signature capture are standard. Data exports can be easily pre-defined such that once a form is done, .pdf, .csv, and .xls files will be generated automatically. Business rules can be applied as you go. The touch-setting can also be used on the Slate 500 and Mi-Forms for data-entry on web-forms or the native client application, giving partners and customers many choices for how to collect data!
Within an affordable price point of $799, the HP Slate 500 also gives enterprises a way to scale mobile data capture for a large number of employees.
