Mi-Co (pronounced "my co" and short for "Mobile Internet" corporation) is the new name for Advanced Digital Systems (ADS). The company develops and markets
pen-on-paper Mobile Internet solutions that provide affordable, easy-to-use and personalized notes capture, storage and communication for handheld devices.
"The name change reflects where we are headed as a company," said Mi-Co President and Co-founder James Clary. "Our business is to help people best utilize their Mobile Internet devices - whether it's a personal digital assistant, cell phone, handheld computer, etc. Our offerings make these devices more useful, facilitating instant handwritten messaging from them via the Internet."
Mi-Co's first offerings are currently in beta testing and will be released this Fall.
These products and services allow consumers to capture pen-on-paper, handwritten information and transmit it wirelessly to a personal computer, personal digital assistant, fax, or other enterprise-class applications.
"Messaging will be the 'Killer App' for the Mobile Internet," explained Daniel Leslie, vice president of sales for Mi-Co. "And we've developed a way to best use handheld devices as core messaging platforms."
