Research Triangle Park, NC (September, 2001)- Mi-Co, developer of handwriting solutions for the Mobile Internet, was one of twenty-six companies selected to demo Mi-Forms at the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED)'s Research Triangle InfoTech 2001.
Presented by CED, in partnership with The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) Carolinas and the Kenan-Flagler Business School, CED's InfoTech 2001 is the Southeast's premiere information technology industry conference. InfoTech 2001 will provide IT entrepreneurs, industry experts, technology executives, and investors opportunities to network and to explore critical issues affecting the IT industry through lively panel discussions.
"InfoTech 2001 had an extremely tough field to select from this year, and all of the companies selected, including Mi-Co, have excellent potential," said Kathy Twiddy of Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, a member of the Selection Committee.
Twenty-six companies were selected from more than 50 applicants to showcase their technology in the Demo Rooms throughout the day on Tuesday, October 31. The Selection Committees chose North Carolina companies who had an exciting and innovative IT technology capable of being demonstrated to CED's members.
The 11th annual conference will be held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on October 30 at The Carolina Club and on October 31 at The Friday Center. Last year more than 900 participants attended CED's InfoTech 2000.
"Mi-Co is excited to have been selected from a large number of competing companies to demonstrate Mi-Forms technology at CED's InfoTech 2001," said Jim Clary, president and co-founder of Mi-Co. "Mi-Forms offers our customers the opportunity to continue using existing paper forms while simultaneously accruing the benefits of computer processing. As a result, Mi-Co's customers in healthcare and other paper-intensive businesses are able to increase revenue and reduce costs without making major changes to their present data collection processes."
Mi-Forms enables users to digitally capture any information that is handwritten on regular paper forms. Using Mi-Co's software, the completed form can then be delivered wirelessly to a handheld device. From there, the document can be stored and immediately used to populate a database or simply be sent anywhere in the world via the Internet and Mi-Co's application server.
