An accomplished and well respected business leader & entrepreneur, Mrs. Janet Hill is sure to bring a wealth of knowledge to the summit, discussing mobility from the Boardroom to the Consumer experience.
Mrs. Janet Hill is a principal in Hill Family Advisors and recently retired as the co-owner and Vice President of Alexander & Associates, Incorporated, a corporate consulting firm in Washington, D.C, providing corporate planning, advice and analyses to directors, executives and managers in the areas of HR planning, corporate responsibility, corporate communications and government consultation.
Mrs. Hill is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Echo360, Inc.; The Wendy’s Company; Dean Foods, Inc. and Carlyle Group. Mrs. Hill has served on four boards from which she retired at the time of the sale of the underlying companies: Sprint, Inc. (which was sold to Softbank); Tambrands, Inc. (which was sold to Proctor & Gamble); Security Capital Group, Inc. (which was sold to G.E. Capital); and Houghton Mifflin Company (which was sold to Vivendi International). She served as a public member of the New York Cotton Exchange for 4 years ending in 1992.
Mrs. Hill is a member of the Board of Trustees of Duke University. She also serves on the Board of the Wellesley Business Leadership Council and the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics. She is also a member of the board of the Military Bowl, A BCS-sanctioned football bowl series.
Mrs. Hill is a past Vice President of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association and former Chair of the Women’s Campaign Fund, the only bipartisan national PAC raising money for women running for federal, state and local offices.
Mrs. Hill is married to Calvin Hill who is an independent consultant to the Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Hill, former Vice President of the Baltimore Orioles, was a 14-year veteran in the National Football League. The Hills reside in Great Falls, Virginia, and are the parents of one son, Grant Hill, who recently retired after 20 years as a professional athlete with the National Basketball Association. Grant’s wife, Tamia, is a 7-time, Grammy-nominated recording artist.
