When people discover Mi-Forms, they often expect an automated Mobile Forms Software that enhances data capture and storage by allowing them to bring their paper forms onto their mobile devices. However, as they learn more about Mi-Forms, they are impressed with the built-in validation and data export capabilities. These capabilities are only the tip of the iceberg, and I can tell you firsthand just how much more you can gain from my experience in developing a custom application using the Mi-Forms SDK.
The Mi-Forms SDK is an extensive toolkit that allows developers access to nearly every aspect of the Mi-Forms universe, including server, client, and designer customization. The toolkit can be beneficial when batch processing form data as XML from a third-party application, when building custom dashboards, or when developing a complete custom client interface that suits your business needs—with no compromises. I’m currently working on the latter.
In our current project, we are rewiring how the customer will access Mi-Forms from the ground up. This customer has no need for some features, and so we are removing these features entirely. Other features, those features that the client can’t handle easily or that are difficult to access, we are putting front and center. Form navigation is looked at in an entirely different way and is controlled through the client instead of in the form itself as it is in most cases.
It is eye opening to see just how much control over the Mi-Forms experience any developer can attain in this way. But even more important is the knowledge that Mi-Forms can be built seamlessly into an overall solution, by streamlining processes to help make mobile data capture an integrated piece of any business.
